My Review As Posted on Trip Advisor... I first heard about Prime 159 on tripadvisor but even after reading all the good reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. Afterall, how good could steak possibly be in Mexico considering it is all corn fed beef and I am used to the juicy delicious grade A steaks that Alberta Canada is famous for. The bell boy had never heard of Prime 159 but luckily our cab driver knew where it was (Just in case it is in the Nuevo Vallarta Business Complex right beside *literally right beside* Porta Bella Restaurant). It was pooring rain with thunderstorms by the time we found the place but to our surprise they had a beautiful covered patio so we ended up eating outside in the middle of the storm. To start they offered a variety of different waters (we both got Pellegrinos) and brought out a number of amazing breads. The bread is so tastey that we had decided if we went there again that we would skip the starter altogether (we had the calamari, which was delicious but not really necessary). Next I ordered the fillet mingon and my boyfriend ordered another steak (I can't remember which specific one at this moment). Both were amazing! The red wine sauce they give you is fantastic but I also highly reccomend the peppercorn. The steak itself was so tender and perfect. Such a relief from the lousy resort food we had been eating for the last few days. As a side I got the truffle maccaroni and cheese (I couldn't help myself) and my boyfriend had the mashed potatos which were also quite delicious. I also ordered a long island iced tea which was also quite good. For dessert we had the cheesecake and apple crumble which definitely didn't disappoint. As for the service, it was also top notch. They constantly are refilling your glass when it looks like it is almost empty, even though the bottles of pelegrino were right in front of us. They even called a cab for us when dinner was done. Overall a great restaurant and a must try if you are in Nuevo Vallarta!!! P.S. I ate at Prime 159 in August and it is now November.. I still think of how delicious this meal was... I wish it was in Canada!!
